ESKRIMA

Eskrima is the Filipino martial art of stick and blade. The style taught is known as Korto Kurbada or Dikit Kurbada meaning “close curving strikes”.

This was the personal style of Manong Cacoy Canete and is well known for its curving strikes which are very deceptive and difficult to defend, especially at close range.

The nature of the close range style makes it highly effective and allows for an easy transition between strikes, locks, controls and takedowns.
